Founder | Galan Aesthetics | “The Doctor of the Stars”
Interview Questions
1) You are widely recognized as one of Miami’s leading aesthetic medicine professionals. Could you share what
inspired your journey from medical school in Havana to founding Galan Aesthetics in the United States?
My journey began in Havana, where I graduated from the University of Medical Sciences with a commitment to serving
others through medicine. Cuban medical education is rigorous and comprehensive, but I always felt drawn to the
intersection where health meets beauty—where science becomes art. Moving to the United States represented a complete
professional transformation. I had to revalidate credentials, pursue additional certifications, and prove myself in
an entirely different healthcare landscape. What sustained me was witnessing the profound impact aesthetic medicine
has on people’s lives—patients who regained confidence and pursued dreams they had abandoned. I earned my Doctorate
in Nursing Practice and certifications from the American Academy of Medical Procedures. Founding Galan Aesthetics
in 2020 was the culmination of years of preparation and unwavering determination to create a practice setting new
standards for excellence, safety, and compassionate patient care in South Florida.
2. How did your early medical training and experience in Cuba and Venezuela shape your approach to patient care
and beauty transformation?
Cuban medical education emphasized holistic patient care—seeing the complete person, not just symptoms. We were
trained with limited resources, which cultivated clinical skills, resourcefulness, and keen observation. These
skills remain invaluable in aesthetic medicine, where understanding facial anatomy and predicting tissue response
requires clinical judgment no machine can replace. My experience in Venezuela exposed me to diverse patient
populations with unique beauty standards and cultural values. This taught me there’s no single definition of
beauty—my role is to understand each patient’s vision while respecting their ethnic features and personal
identity. Most importantly, I learned that patients trust us with something deeply personal—their appearance
and confidence. That trust is sacred, and it defines my empathetic, patient-centered approach today.
3. What motivated you to specialize in aesthetic and anti-aging medicine, and how has that passion evolved over
the years?
I was motivated by witnessing aesthetic medicine’s transformative power on every dimension of a person’s life.
Early in my career, I treated a patient with facial scarring from a car accident. After treatments, she didn’t
just look better—she reclaimed her life, returned to work, and reconnected with relationships. That showed me
aesthetic medicine is restoration and empowerment, not vanity. Initially, my passion centered on mastering
techniques and technologies. Over the years, it evolved into education, safety advocacy, and industry leadership.
I founded Galan Academy to train practitioners with emphasis on safety, ethics, and patient-centered care.
Through media appearances, I combat myths and promote safe practices. Anti-aging medicine fascinates me because
it’s about vitality, longevity, and quality of life—helping patients optimize health while looking their best
is medicine as both science and art.
4. You’ve often been called the “Doctor of the Celebrities.” How do you balance serving high-profile clients
with maintaining authenticity and ethical medical practice?
High-profile clients trust me with their most valuable professional asset—their image. That trust is sacred. I
balance this with one non-negotiable principle: medical ethics always come first, regardless of patient status or
willingness to pay. I treat every patient with the same standard of care and honesty. I never compromise safety
or perform procedures that aren’t medically appropriate. Authenticity means being transparent about what’s
achievable and realistic. I’ve turned down procedures when they weren’t right for the patient, even when it
meant losing revenue. That integrity earns trust no marketing can buy. I maintain strict confidentiality through
NDAs and private treatment spaces. Whether treating a celebrity or first-time patient, my commitment remains:
deliver natural, safe results that enhance unique features and prioritize long-term health over trends.
